Time Machine Bootcamp

The time machine boot camp – the start of a new journey

Two months ago we were embarking on an exciting journey – selecting the best and brightest youngsters from all the companies in the eMAG group and creating the crew for the third Future 25 edition. Now, 25 brave young people with great potential are ready to create the future of the company. It’s the beginning of a new journey. Not an easy one for sure, but definitely one they will remember. For all the right reasons. πŸ™‚

So we started this new experience with a boot camp. This was the moment when the complete Future 25 2.0 team met, got to know the mentors and buddies who will join them in the next two years and had a sneak peak into the program.

Brain & body day

Although this was an 80% online bootcamp, due to the current conditions, we also had a small offline gathering to get the blood flowing. Early in the morning, we gathered in Baneasa Forest for a short running session with Iulian Stanciu, our CEO. Whether the they were beginners or experienced runners, the 25ers were able to enjoy the experience, by choosing a trail adapted to their experience. After this, we sat down with Iulian and he shared some inspiring stories about the company, its beginnings and some valuable advices for the participants.

The second part of the day was dedicated to the brain. The buddies and mentors got to introduce themselves and say a few words about their experience, in preparation for the mentoring and buddying activities that await in the program later on. After that, the participants, along with mentors and buddies, started working, in teams, on creating some original movies keeping in mind the agile principles.

Play Day

We started the second day with an improvisation workshop where we got to loosen up and play tons of fun games. The goal of this activity was to make participants aware of the importance of acting as a team, take them out of their comfort zone and help them access their imagination, spontaneity and connection. We then cooked our own lunch, with a series of ingredients the participants had previously received, under the guidance of a famous chef. That was so fun. And delicious too. πŸ™‚

Another activity, team coaching, was aimed at helping participants use the solution-focus approach to define their vision of their future as well as concrete actions and resources for their personal development. After all that intense thinking, we got to end the boot camp in style, with an online party. We saw the original movies the 25ers created the previous day, tested our knowledge about each other and shared impressions from the past days.

The boot camp was just the beginning of this journey for the 25ers. Next, they will go through workshops, creative breakfasts, mentoring, challenges, a Fast Track MBA and two Arenas.

May they make the most out of this experience!
